There is no creation without destruction
All around us, throughout our short existence, creation and destruction occur simultaneously both above and below our conscious understanding. One cannot exist without the other. Creation is born from the ashes of destruction revealing the wisdom of impermanence and teaching us the value of what we hold dear. Ultimately, there is no creation without destruction, for they are the yin and yang, forever entwined in the extraordinary dance of life.
I “destroy” the perfectly clean canvas to create the painting; manipulate the ‘pretty’ photograph to create the unreal image, and cut, grind, print, transfer and manipulate the clean metal surface in order to make my art something that only I can see until it is revealed in its final form.
